Arrive in Bergen, meet your local guide at the airport, transfer to you accommodation at Klosterhagen hotel (or similar).

Your local guide will show you around Bergen city and we’ll take the cable car to Fløyen, for an amazing view of the city. Take the cable car back down and continue exploring Bergen.

Breakfast at the hotel, free day in Bergen city, though your local guide will have plenty of suggestions of what to see and do. Meet up at 19:00 and board Hurtigruten (leaves Bergen at 20:00). Have dinner together on the boat.

Arrive in Ålesund around noon. We have time for a short but beautiful walk to Aksla, the viewpoint in Ålesund, 418 steps, 3,5 km. This is very doable for anyone, though if someone doesn’t want to walk, a taxi can be arranged at own expense. This is a great spot for lunch in the café at the top. In the afternoon and evening we’ll explore Ålesund, and have dinner in the city. Stay at Hotel Brosundet.

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel in Ålesund. We’ll drive to the historical Hotel Union Øye (2 1/2hrs). The hotel has been a place where visitors come to savor the good life and tranquility in magnificent surroundings since 1891. It has been a favourite venue for royalty, writers and lovers for generations. Enjoy an afternoon walk around this beautiful and historical place. Ask your guide for other options and hikes.

After breakfast at the historic hotel, we drive to Hellesylt (30 minutes), then take the ferry to Geiranger, and then another short ferry ride out to the starting point of the hike up to Skageflå, one of the few farms carved into the mountains around the Geirangerfjord. We’ll walk back down (also suitable for non-hikers) and take the boat back to Geiranger. The hike up to Skageflå is steep, but there is a railing, and the path is good, it takes about 45 minutes. There is the option for non hikers to stay in Geiranger.

We drive towards Romsdalen, down the majestic and famous Trollstigen (Trolls Path), one of Norway’s most beautiful drives. Today we take Raumabanen, named Europe’s most beautiful railway journey by Lonely Planet. It takes you through some of the most dramatic of Norway’s landscape. Read more HERE. We stay at Hotel Aak, a small and cozy hotel in Åndalsnes.

Today there’s time for a look around Åndalsnes, and a coffee at the new “Tindesenter”, a center for mountain sports, with a museum where you can learn about the motivation, triumphs and tragedies of the Norwegian mountaineering history (entrance to the museum not included, the price is 140 NOK). An optional hike is available here also. We’ll then drive back to Ålesund, and board Hurtigruten (leaves at 3 pm), Dinner will be on the boat.

Today we wake up in Trondheim (the ship arrives at 6 am). Breakfast on board, before exploring Trondheim for 2-3 hours, the ship leaves again at 12noon. Dinner on board, and now a beautiful sail along the Norwegian coast begins.

Most of today is spent on the ship, relaxing and enjoying the beautiful Norwegian cost line, and especially the Helgeland coast (lunch on board, not included). Arrive at 7.00 pm in Lofoten, Stamsund. Drive 1 hour and 15 minutes to Reine, and the “Rorbuer”, which is very famous local accommodation on the northern coast of Norway. Dinner at the accommodation, or restaurant in walking distance.

Today we explore the beautiful small village of Reine, then take a ferry to Bunesstranda. There we have an effortless walk to the beach, 3 hours return, with a maximum distance of 8 km. If anyone prefers not to do it, they can stay in Reine and have a relaxed day there, or take the ferry with the walkers, and back again, so it becomes more of a “fjord cruise”.

Drive to Unstad, for a beautiful costal walk to Eggum (2 hours, about 9 km). This is one of the most famous walks in Lofoten. For anyone not wanting to walk, you can do part of the walk or stay at the beach of Unstad. We’ll then drive 1 hour to Svolvær, have a look around before boarding Hurtigruten again, departing at 9pm. Dinner on board, or in Svolvær, whichever any one prefers.

Arrive in Tromsø 2.15 pm, after sailing past beautiful landscapes. The group explores Tromsø, and in the evening (11 pm), enjoy a “midnight sun concert” in one of Norway’s most beautiful churches (optional, not included, 170 NOK per person).
