WALKING THE AMALFI COAST & SORRENTO PENINSULA 

You are welcomed to the intriguing city of Naples and the world most famous Vesuvius volcano. Your walking adventure takes place in Agerola: a rural village situated on an high plan surrounded by striking landscapes, nestled between spectacular cliffs and easy access to superb walks. Famous for their amazing views over terraced hillsides rising up from the blue Mediterranean sea, the Amalfi Coast and the Sorrento peninsula embrace a picturesque network of footpaths connecting attractive villages and lemon gardens. The journey includes a visit of the enchanting Ravello, a walk on the marvellous footpath of Gods and, finally, a sojourn in the Sorrento peninsula, living a serene experience in a charming country accommodation: our ideal location to explore the area, offering opportunities to visit the island of Capri or the ruins of Pompeii. In between walks, you enjoy friendly hospitality and sublime local food & wine.

Day 1
Arrival in Naples, meeting with tour leader at 6,00 pm at the hotel. Enjoy a delicious welcome dinner in a typical Italian restaurant. Overnight: Hotel in Naples. Meal included: dinner

Day 2
Visit the world famous Vesuvius volcano, hike toward the crater to enjoy the wonderful panorama over the bay of Naples and the Islands. Private transfer to Agerola. Overnight: Hotel in Agerola. Meals included: breakfast & dinner

Day 3
Today the hike starts from the village of San Lazzaro (Agerola) going through ancient paths up to the tiny hamlet of Pogerola. During the walk you enjoy magnificent views over the Amalfi coast. After a picnic lunch on a terrace of the village you descend an antique flight of steps towards Amalfi.  Free time to explore on your own the ancient Maritime Republic of Amalfi, famous for its refined architecture. A public bus takes you back to Agerola. Overnight Hotel in Agerola. Meals included: breakfast & dinner

Day 4
Public bus from Agerola to Amalfi. Starting from the main square, you ramble a scenic path up to the valley of the ancient mills. Hiking on old mule tracks along the valley admire what remains of many paper factories. Walking through the typical lemon groves, arrive at the world famous hamlet of Ravello with its picturesque gardens, Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo. Overnight Agriturismo/Hotel in Agerola. Meals included: breakfast & dinner

Day 5
Today you hike on the “ Path of the Gods”, one of the most spectacular Italian trails. This breathtaking path, conduct you to the village of Nocelle and then to Positano through stunning scenery. Positano is characterized by an unique structure, with its buildings, painted with vibrant colors, cling to the rock face. Transfer by private  bus to Sorrento. Overnight Agriturismo in Sorrento Peninsula. Meals included: breakfast & dinner

Day 6
Free day – Assisted by the tour leader it is possible to choose to take the local train to Pompeii, visiting the world’s most captivating Roman excavation (a full visit take at least half a day) or, go by boat to Capri, the island where international jet set meet and spend their holidays, famous since Roman times when Emperor Tiberius chose to live there because of its gorgeous surroundings and pleasant climate. Overnight: Agriturismo in Sorrento Peninsula. Meals included: breakfast

Day 7
Today walk to the ‘land’s end’ of the peninsula of Sorrento, Punta Campanella. Walking through a charming village, you stroll along a pristine Mediterranean coast, now a marine reserve, where it is possible enjoy stunning views over the Bay of Naples with the island of Capri, the Bay of Salerno and the Amalfi Coast. Overnight: Agriturismo in Sorrento Peninsula. Meals included: breakfast

Day 8
End the tour today after a leisurely breakfast. Or continue on today and connect with the Gems of Tuscany tour.

Your Tuscany experience begins at Florence, the centre of the Renaissance, one of Europe's greatest treasures and continues through the quiet Tuscan landscape to a succession of fascinating towns. Admire the superb medieval city of Siena; enjoy the fashion of the mysterious San Gimignano with its stunning ancient towers and explore the quiet streets of the unknown Colle Val d’ Elsa, enjoying balcony views across the Elsa valley before your Tuscan Adventure’s end in Volterra: a real Etruscan jewel, home to alabaster workshops, delightful with its tangle of alleys and its ancient roman theatre.

Day 1
Arrive in Florence. Meeting with tour leader at 6,00 pm at the hotel. Free time to explore the cultural capital of Tuscany. Overnight: Florence

Day 2
Transfer by private bus to Siena, one of Italy’s most enchanting cities with its famous square “Piazza del Campo”, the Duomo, a great mixture of Gothic and Romanesque architecture and its medieval treasures. Explore the enchanting medieval city and continue by private bus to the farm house in the countryside of San Gimignano. Overnight: Agriturismo in the countryside of San Gimignano. Meals included: Breakfast & Dinner

Day 3
Walk through classic Tuscan landscapes with wonderful views on the city of the towers, enjoying the pleasure of crossing ancient trails where pilgrims once travelled north and south through Europe. Visit of San Gimignano. Overnight: Agriturismo in the countryside of San Gimignano. Meals included: Breakfast & Dinner.

Day 4
Walk along panoramic ridge to Colle Val d'Elsa  a delightful walled town and home to Italy's finest crystal makers. Visit of the village and walking back to the farmhouse in the countryside of San Gimignano. Overnight: Agriturismo in the countryside of San Gimignano. Meals included: Breakfast & Dinner.

Day 5
Free day with the option to walk through Pilgrims’ footsteps along the Via Francigena. Overnight: Agriturismo in the countryside of San Gimignano. Meals included: Breakfast & Dinner.

Day 6
Walk through olive groves, oak forests, vast wheat fields and past stone farmhouses, before arriving in Volterra. Free time to explore the city before dinner. Overnight: Volterra. Meal included: Breakfast

Day 7
Walk around the town’s old Etruscan walls before starting a lovely walk along an ancient Etruscan road with great views of the Era valley. Enjoy amazing limestone cliffs that dominate the surrounding landscape. Passing ancient water mills reach the hamlet of Prato d’Era, on the Era River. Then following a scenic trail come back up towards Volterra. Overnight: Volterra. Meal included: Breakfast

Day 8
Trip ends in Volterra. Meal included: Breakfast
