Nicholas White and Silvana Gottini are co-owners, founders and tour leaders of Southern Exposure Tours. They have lived and worked in South and Central America collectively gaining over 16 years of experience both as independent travelers and adventure tour leaders, successfully leading small group journeys through various countries in the most testing of conditions. This knowledge and experience ensures you'll be in the most capable hands from start to finish. 

David Ugarte Rivera

Born in Peru and a graduate of the University of San Antonio Abad, Cusco with a degree in tourism. David has been our local guide and friend for many years. Our clients will agree that he is a fabulous guide, knowledgeable and passionate about Peru. You will come away with special memories as he shares the mysteries of Peru, the Inca culture and Machu Picchu. With over 10 years of guiding experience, his specialities are adventure sports, Inca Trail hikes, mountain biking, rafting and horse riding. Federico Lucas Miro

Born in Buenos Aires but adopted by Patagonia, Federico has a B.A. in Tourism and is Certificated Tour Guide of Los Glaciares, Perito Moreno and Nahuel Huapi National Parks and Kayaking Guide of NHNP. He has participated in workshops for instructors of the American Canoe Association and was trained in WFR with Fundación Ecomed. With more than 10 years of guiding groups all over Patagonia, Fede is our most popular local guide there. His incredible passion for the area and spirit of adventure will undoubtely make your time with him a highlight of the trip. You will find Fede on the "Route 40 On The Go" tour, as well as the short break kayaking trip in Bariloche.

Karen Platzer

Karen has lived in in Switzerland, Africa and Greece, though now is settled in NZ. She is very passionate about travel and everyone who travels with her loves the relaxed and flexible style Karen has made her trademark. You'll find Karen taking the Greece, Turkey and Africa tours which are incredibly diverse and provide unique insights to these fascinating areas.
