Silvana I'd like to thank you for a wonderful tour. I keep reliving one highlight or another, and now have my photos back to go through and jog my memory too. I really appreciated your great organization to keep everything flowing, the great things/sights that we experienced, the excellent accomodation, as well as all the extra things that weren't included that we did. For me especially, the bunk room in the hut instead of the box room was a plus! Most of all perhaps, your unfailing good humour at all times. Carol Hamilton, Tauranga |

I have travelled on S.E.T. tours twice now and may do so again! ‘Patagonia Encompassed’ I relished for the remoteness and grandeur of places visited and the family feeling of the group I travelled with. The ‘Tranzalpine’ enabled me to visit lesser known European locations, to walk in areas of great beauty, and to get an inside look at the local way of life. Silvana’s enthusiasm, local knowledge and contacts made each of these trips a special experience. I can wholeheartedly recommend S.E.T.’s style of travel and unique itineraries. For travellers who want an active holiday with the opportunity of getting away from the main tourist routes, these tours offer that and much more. Jenny McLaughlin, Manurewa |

June 2009 was a marvellous month for my partner Mike and I. We toured with Silvana for three weeks through the European alps. The small group numbers meant we got to know our fellow travellers well and I liked the intimacy and personal acknowledgement gained from travelling in a small group. Silvana was an excellent tour guide, knowing the area like the back of her hand, keeping the group cohesive, always positive, encouraging and great fun. She got us to places we would never have visited under our own steam. She is a natural as a tour guide and very professional. |

Wine Lovers Tour 2007 - "Worth every dollar. Superb scenery. An insight into the wine industry of both countries, food to 'die for'. Culturally both a shock and an eye-opener. Can't say too much or enough. Silvana excels as a tour leader and goes beyond the call of duty. Would do it all again." Lyn Clarke |

"I recently celebrated my retirement with a three month trip throughout Southern and Central America. One of the highlights was the fortnight I spent with Nick's Southern Exposure Tour of the Galapagos Islands. Everything ran like clockwork with each day being jammed full of wonderful activities. Our group was truly international and of all ages yet the range of activities was suitable for all of us to enjoy. Thank you SET for providing me with an amazing experience which proved to be superb value for money." Chris Cole, Taupo, New Zealand |

"The biggest thank you to Nick, Tim and Carla of Southern Exposure Tours, who made our trip to The Galapagos Islands such a fantastic experience - one that we will never forget. We really felt we saw the Galapagos in the best way possible - a small group with a great Kiwi tour guide, who managed to get us to the most amazing places where we were always rewarded with heaps of spectacular wildlife and absolutely no other tourists. There was never a dull moment, and we really appreciated the opportunity to stay on the beautiful islands having a beer with the locals each night. Perfect. This trip exceeded all our expectations, nice one guys - keep up the great work." Jeannie Miller and Victoria Spratt |

"One of my most memorable excursions in all my 11 years of running was with Nick in Corporaque, Colca Canyon. At daybreak, I followed Nick over cobble stoned passageways in this tiny Peruvian town, past small mud houses and fenced-in pens for their farm animals. We ran up into the mountains behind the village, dodging alpacas grazing on the hillside, climbing over old rock walls and jumping across streams. It was 6am and the sun was just rising over the Andes, casting a beautiful pink-orange glow over us -- it was by far the highlight of my travels with Nick." Melanie Kaan, Peru 2003 |

"Our trip to Patagonia in 2005 was a truly amazing experience and for us the thrill of a lifetime. As soon as we landed in Buenos Aires we knew we were in for a good time. Silvana's knowledge and confidence around the city was excellent and her ease with the language and people was very reassuring. We loved the contrast of El Calafate (and the excellent Merlot) and the sheer grandeur of the Moreno Glacier. We enjoyed the guides that joined us in the National Park and on the Glacier. To wander around Tierra del Fuego and travel the Beagle Channel at the bottom of the world was an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend Silvana and her team at SET." "The Patagonia Encompassed trip is highly recommended. Just like travelling with a group of friends, one of who has been and checked it all out before. We got to see all the best places without having to worry about the travel arrangements. A great mix of the spectacular outdoors along with the opportunity to enjoy great food and wine, especially in favourite places like El Chalten. A bonus surprise was that we found Argentina in particular to be great value for money." Vance and Carol Boyd, Queenstown |

"What can I say….. Words can't express the adventures I've had, the sheer excitement I've felt, the people I've met, and the food the glorious food I've devoured. The company, no, more a family designing tours that exceed all expectations catering for all types and you think they've done it all for you personally. Nick White, born Commander and Chief and all round awesome fella leading the troops, spewing out espanol like it was his mother tongue with grace and finesse. Peru fantastic, spiritual, mysterious, hard not to fall in love with, I've just got to go back….. now!" Rik Valentine, Nelson |

“Simply the Best” overseas trip I have ever experienced. A huge thank you to Nick, as our leader, for going the extra mile to ensure that our excursions and dining adventures were first class and unforgettable. In the remoteness of the Amazon basin we had jungle walks searching for wildlife, exhilarating zip-line canopy exploration (flying through the tree tops), fishing for piranha and touring a local village. The Inca Trail Trek is a must for anyone wishing to see Machu Picchu. To watch the lost city emerging from the mist of the morning was just breathtaking and well worth the walk in. The only disappointment was, having to come home”. Ian Tyler, Nelson |

Nick : Loralee and I had to send you a note to tell you how much we enjoyed our trip to Ecuador with you and Southern Exposure Tours. 8 days in the Andes, 8 days in the Galapagos and a few days on our own -- just about perfect. From our arrival to our departure, I don't think we could have been in better hands. Mountain climbing, mountain biking, snorkeling and trekking -- a busy couple of weeks full of challenge (Illiniza Norte and Cotopaxi), excitement (swimming w/sharks!), wonder (face to face w/sea turtles and sea lions), and great companionship. I cannot imagine a better guide or a better trip . Mike Pugh and Loralee Mckee, Oregan, USA, Ecuador Climb Bike Dive 2007 | |
