We have had some wonderful feedback from people who have been on our trips...

Just a note to say that I enjoyed the trip immensely. It exceeded my expectations.  I enjoyed meeting David Ugarte who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I was impressed as to how passionate he is about his country and this came across very favourably.  Also Nick and Pablo were extremely helpful and I also appreciated Pablo's knowledge and passion for the Galapagos.  All in all a very pleasant experience.  Even the return flight disruption did not dampen my enjoyment.  Thanks again for your efforts and I have no hesitation in recommending you as a tour organizer.  Best Regards Frank - Auckland - Peru Galapagos Adventure 2011

We have travelled widely both independently and with tours so our expectations of SET were high - they delivered! It was so nice to have everything organized so that all we had to do was enjoy the ride and soak up the atmosphere. The flexibility of our guide Nick meant we could explore without rigid timetables, yet we still saw all that the itinerary promised us. Thank you SET for showing us the highlights of South America. What a fabulous holiday! Jenny, Keith and Jo - Christchurch - South American Sojourn 2011

From the beautiful Iguazu Falls which was a real highlight, to the heights of Machu Picchu, this was a very well organized tour. We saw something different every day. I choose to add on the ten day Galapagos tour and I was amazed by the volcano, as much as by the wildlife there. Thanks for a great trip and if you are doing anything in Canada or Alaska in the future, I'd be very keen to join you again. Bruce - Central Otago - South American Sojourn and Galapagos Adventure 2011

First of all THANKYOU for organizing an amazing tour for me. It was all I could wish for and more. I just loved Peru, the scenery, people the sense of Family. David was excellent. His enthusiasm and knowledge of his country was inspiring. He showed an understanding of people, of me, and made the Trail a fun, and rewarding experience. Cant speak highly enough of him.
My highlight of the tour was of the Colca Cannon area. The bus trip, scenery there was wonderful. The history, and best of all the terracing. Roberto our local guide was excellent, was so happy to share his knowledge, with humor, and was aware of peoples interests and went out of his way to get to know us personally so he could communicate. A real gift. Silvana, I do appreciate how professional you are. I would love to recommend your company to anyone who would like to listen. Leah Wild - Christchurch - Peru Galapagos Adventure 2011

For me this was the trip of a lifetime!! Although we visited tourist sights, I also felt we saw and learnt a lot about traditional culture and saw the "real" peru/galapagos which I think you wouldn't have normally seen. The guides were fantastic, very genuine and full of knowledge and enthusiasm for their culture. Snorkelling with Hammer Heads on Galapagos, feeling like you are at the centre of the universe at Machu Picchu and seeing Andean Condors soaring in the Colca Canyon were just some of the many highlights. Can't wait for my next trip!" Katie Cornish - Wellington - Peru Galapagos Adventure 2011

Am happy to report the trip was just an amazing concoction of wonderful sights and experiences. Everything went like clockwork, thanks to the efforts of all concerned and a bit of luck with strikes and weather! Our guides, particularly David were superb, both he and Pablo in the Galapagos, could not have done more to make the trip a lifetime experience. The Inca Trail wasn't easy but we all managed it, we were all sure the gradual rise in altitude helped a great deal - The porters and the food were magnificent.
There were so many highlights, it is hard to recollect everything. Peter Cook, Christchurch - Peru Galapagos Adventure 2011

It was awesome, I cannot tell you how much it meant for me to get to Machu Picchu. Even though Peru has a lot of problems, I loved it. It's full of history and character. The Galapagos was a whole different scene and another dream realized. The snorkeling was amazing with reef sharks, rays, sea turtles and I loved the iguanas. It was such a beautiful place. Thank you for organizing a well planned action packed trip, that delivered on everything promised! Judith Lima, Hastings - Peru Galapagos Adventure 2011

It was a great trip. I enjoyed it immensely. I think most of my expectations were met, especially the walking in the Alps - which is what we went for! My highlights were Mt Cornetto and the Dolomites. Best meal was the Buschenscank in Austria, sampling a wide range of home produced foods and wine, not to mention the cider! Silvana kept everything running smoothly and was very patient with us. As this was my first trip to Europe, I cannot make comparisons, but feel that this tour can be highly recommended. Ciao, Sally Douglas, Golden Bay - European Alps 2011

I have travelled on S.E.T. tours twice now and may do so again! ‘Patagonia Encompassed’ I relished for the remoteness and grandeur of places visited and the family feeling of the group I travelled with. The ‘Tranzalpine’ enabled me to visit lesser known European locations, to walk in areas of great beauty, and to get an inside look at the local way of life. Silvana’s enthusiasm, local knowledge and contacts made each of these trips a special experience. I can wholeheartedly recommend S.E.T.’s style of travel and unique itineraries. For travellers who want an active holiday with the opportunity of getting away from the main tourist routes, these tours offer that and much more. Jenny McLaughlin, Manurewa - Patagonia Encompassed & Tranzalpine Europe

Dear Silvana, It was a great trip and what a magic time to go when all the alpine flowers are out. Just beautiful. Some of the highlights were the the walk to the Three Peaks on Monte Bondone, the amazing day we had in the Dolomites going to the Puez Hut and of course the tandem paragliding for Ann. All in all you did very well with such a diverse group of people and all the varied walking abilities, which I guess you come across often. We can definitely recommend your trip anyone who loves walking and the outdoors. We were of course also very blessed with the wonderful weather we had which made the walks all the more special.    Dear Silvana, Just to say once again thanks a million for an amazing trip experience.. Your organisational skills were 100% which made it very easy for us to travel without a lot of hassles. We really enjoyed all the places we visited, and the scenery while tramping in Switzerland and the Dolomites, was spectacular. There was a good mix of tramping and sight seeing, and flexible enough to vary it to suit everyone as the need arose. We were also lucky enough to be in the company of a great group of fellow Kiwi travellers.
Please keep us posted as to further excursions.
Until next time. Danke und auf wiedersehen,
Denise and Keith, Christchurch - European Alps tour 2011

    Dear Silvana,
Thanks so much for a wonderful trip walking in Europe.
This trip is actually the most satisfying overseas trip I have made.
I particularly like the way the tour was organised  - experiencing local life. Making it an adventure, not just a tour.
I’d be happy to talk to any potential customers for you,
Best Wishes, Dick Wenzel, Golden Bay, European Alps tour 2011

What a great experience we had with Southern Exposure Tours in the European Alps. The walks we enjoyed from the Italian coast  to alpine meadows climbing up into magnificent mountain scenery of Switzerland and Austria, the good local food, good company and cheerful, efficient and enthusiastic leadership in Silvana made a truly enjoyable and memorable adventure full of variety. Thankyou so much.
Bron Thorneycroft, Golden Bay - European Alps 2011

Thank you both for a fantastic South American Tour - I'm still smiling and sharing fond memories of it with everyone who asks what I've been up to lately. It certainly exceeded my expectations and I have many great memories. Silvana I thank you for all the bookings etc from this end. Nick, as you said "it doesn't get any better than this". So thanks for all the organization and handy travelling tips. This trip has certainly given me some great photos and memories to share. People always oooh and aaah when I show them the underwater footage of the Galapagos. Still can't quote believe I've done all those incredible things. So Silvana you might see me on the Central America trip in a couple of years for more adventure. A big thank you to both of you. Elaine Iddon - Peru and Galapagos 2010

Dear Silvana, My experiences on your South American Tour were way above my expectations! I really enjoyed the entire trip, and found your boundless enthusiasm and intimate knowledge of the places we visited to be a superb asset. Nothing seemed to bother you, and you managed our holiday of a lifetime superbly. Many thanks! Don Raynes (Auckland, NZ) - South American sojourn 2010.

This is our second trip with SET. We really enjoyed the Peru Encompassed trip, meeting and travelling with a good bunch of people. The itinerary was well planned to allow for plenty of time above 3000m before the Inca Trail so we were both pleased to that we found it fairly easy. We have seen plenty of ruins in our time but thought the Inca ones were in a class of their own. Thanks Nick for a being such a good host. Vance & Carol Boyd, Queesntown - Peru Encompassed 2010

I expected to go to South America to tick it off my bucket list, never to return.Instead it worked its way into my heart and soul. Obvious highlights were the dramatic Iguassu Falls, spectacular Machu Picchu and unusual Lake Titicaca with the Reed Islands, but add on the friendly people, the great food and drink, the amazing history and the wonderful and different cultures, and the trip becomes unforgettable.

With Tour Leader Silvana, no problem was insurmountable, and her fluency in Spanish came in very handy when ordering food and drink, or bargaining for souvenirs. Did I enjoy the trip? Definitely!Would I go back again? In a heart beat. Kath Weavers, Auckland - South American Sojourn 2010
