Our Saigon to Angkor cycle tour is graded easy to moderate:
Easy Grading: Riding on rural roads both asphalt and gravel. Suitable for anyone who can ride a bike and can manage a bit of exercise. There might be some short gentle climbs and descents, but on the whole – easy. Distances of between 25-50 kms per day.
Moderate grading: Medium length rides suitable for the leisure cyclist who exercises regularly and has good mobility. Fitness is more important than technical ability for this level, as the road surfaces will be mostly smooth and the hills relatively gentle. Distances of between 50-80 kms per day.
As it will be hotter and more humid than you’re used to, you’ll get maximum enjoyment if you are of average to good fitness. If you haven’t biked for a while, we suggest you add biking a couple of times a week for around 30-40km, to your fitness regime about 6 weeks before going on the trip. The longest cycle day is 90km, however you always have the option to travel in the support vehicle if necessary. Most days are between 50km and 70km in length, with a total of 11 full biking days and 3 half days.
2 countries in 11 days! This ultimate cycling adventure from the mighty Mekong to the mesmerizing temples of Angkor Wat is out of this world. It’s a jam-packed excursion that covers a lot of ground, including Southern Vietnam’s scenic pathways, friendly candid visits with Cham people and Cambodia’s rich cultural heritage.
