There were countless highlights on this journey—it’s almost impossible to choose just one, as every destination and even the moments in between were memorable. What stood out most were the unexpected experiences. As a weaver, I mentioned my interest to our guide Sam, who arranged a spontaneous visit to a village outside Siem Reap. There, I spent time with three elderly women weaving for the markets, sharing stories, laughter, and a universal connection through weaving. I gifted them what I made, and one of the ladies gave me her piece in return—it was heartfelt and unforgettable.
The entire journey was exceptionally well planned. Silvana and Southern Exposure Tours went above and beyond, organising our Cambodia and Vietnam trip with only a few weeks’ notice. Every detail was thoughtfully tailored, creating a seamless, stress-free experience with the perfect balance of iconic highlights, surprises, and flexibility.
The itinerary was well paced, with engaging mornings and relaxed afternoons to enjoy the excellent accommodation. The warmth and care from staff everywhere exceeded expectations.
Travelling privately allowed us to embrace spontaneous moments—like roadside stops, village visits, and adjusting plans along the way. The night market food tour in Phnom Penh and the cooking class in Siem Reap were standout experiences, along with trying some more adventurous local delicacies.
A truly enriching and memorable journey that exceeded all expectations.
